Mr. Dan Konkel of A&D Communications recently completed a year-long analysis of telephone expenses incurred by Las Animas County. Mr. Konkel reviewed expenditures relating to all county offices including the courthouse, sheriff’s department, road & bridge department, human services department, and airport. He reviewed telephone bills for such items as incorrectly charged phone lines and tariffs that should not have been assessed. He also made recommendations for streamlining the telephone system in the courthouse resulting in savings for lines that were not needed. Mr. Konkel also carried out the task of communicating with Qwest and other service providers to make sure that appropriate changes and corrections were made to our telephone billing. His services enabled Las Animas County to realize approximately $25,000 savings in annual telephone expenses.
